Today we reviewed our story about Rosie Revere and labeled what Rosie can, has, and is. We had some strong vocabulary skills and we worked on spelling and phonemic awareness strategies. The we had some seasonal stations where we worked on fine motor skills and then graphing skills. Lastly, some stations had students building bridges and engineering like Rosie.
Today we learned what it meant to be an engineer. We read Rosie Revere, Engineer and added to our picture what we though Rosie might build. Then we practiced building bridges and ramps with various materials.
Today we wrote the solution for the problems in Boxitects and the students got pratice copying from the board and tons of fine motor skills. Then we played a little game with some paper shapes and tried to use our imagination to make different objects. Then we wrote about them!
Today we reviewed the Boxitects story and focused on our problem and solution. We also practiced being good teammates in our stations. We had a tallest tower challenge too! There were some very tall towers!
Today we practiced our five star coloring in our STEM workbooks! Everyone was doing a great job! It's always a great idea to keep practicing coloring at home. Then we listened to a story about a Boxitect who was not very nice to her partner! We decided we knew how to work with partners much better than she did, so we went with a partner to a STEM station and build towers, made patterns, connected magnets, and made prints in playdough. Everyone did great!
