We had a great first day in Beginning Reading! We learned about 5 Star coloring and how we were all going to be 5 Star colorers this year! We also learned about smartie spelling! We practiced looking for our friends' names in a word search (this was a challenge). Finally we listened to a story about a brand new school!
For HW this week I have sent home a diagnostic assessment. I personally made sure this ended up in your child's backpack. This is very important. Please read the front of the packet and follow the directions. Please do not help your child with any of the answers! It is completely fine if they miss every single thing you ask them! This is really more just to help me understand exactly where your child needs to be and how he/she learns best.
One plea--Please work with your student on getting ALL their things together and in their backpack in a timely fashion. Make sure all binders/folders can actually fit in bookbags and make sure they can get everything packed up in about 5 minutes. Thank you for practicing this at home!
