Today we finished up our notes for the supply chain. We also spent some time thinking about our business and what might be successful at our Makers' Market. Finally, we played a business RPG, which was really fun!
Today we finished up the lecture about the four stages of business with the fourth stage (finance and accounting). Then we started our lecture about the supply chain. We will finish that up next week.
For HW:
-Trace a company and find out what they do at each "stage" of the business (use the four functions of business notes to help).
-Complete your business decision file about Stanley.
When we return from fall break, students should have their business pitches ready to go for our Makers' Market. More info about this next week.
Today we learned about the four functions of a business (but we really only got through three!). For HW students need to complete the Coke vs. Pepsi marketing page and they should also pick one of the following products and trace it using the four functions we talked about in class.
Today we continued our discussion of businesses creating products to solve problems. We created a list of Lego problems we still had. Then students had about 15 minutes to develop a "theoretical" solution (with no parameters) and pitch it to the rest of the class. We had a Lego Pull Aparter, A Lego Mini-sanitizer, and Lego Glue that dissolves in water.
Today we learned about how business is basically people who are trying to solve problems! Then we had a moment of stations throughout the class to do some critical thinking about business and marketing. Finally, we went over our homework--Our first business spotlight, Lego!
For HW: Complete the Lego Spotlight page and make a list of as many problems that you see that need to be solved.
HS Students--Please check the google classroom for any of your work.
