Today, I handed out our workbooks for the class. Please keep up with these as they contain a full semester's work. A fee of $40 will be required should you lose your notebook. You are free to write in the notebook for note taking purposes and, of course, your work should be completed on the pages that require work. For this week's work, you are to complete pages 1-13.
complete pages 16-20 in your workbook
This week we talked about monopolies and how the government instituted policies and acts to deter corporations and capitalists from forming monopolies. We also learned about how American is progressing! For HW complete to page 27. Additionally, we will be having a test next week! It will not be multiple choice or the like. Instead, it will be a short paragraph response to six questions. Many of the questions are your opinions, you just need to support them with evidence from what we have learned. As always, if you have questions, please reach out!
Today we took our first test. We also had a notebook check. I also sent out a Google invite to the students to join a Google classroom so that I can record their grades there. For HW this week, we will be completing pages. 28-37.
Today we prepped for our test next week by playing a trivia style game. We had a TON of fun. This class is really fun and it's been very neat to see them have a cross over between their history lessons and Animal Farm. Next week will be a notebook check and the test, so make sure you review The Progressive Era and get everything from that section complete in the notebook.
Today we took our second test of the semester and students also received a grade on their notebooks as well. Most notebook grades improved. It isn't hard to make a good grade on the notebook---You simply have to do the work. That's it! I will enter grades into the Google classroom as I get the test graded (hopefully you won't have to wait too long). I spoke with the English teacher and she suggested no history homework over break so that everyone can have an amazing Thematic analysis paper! Because she and I are so close, I have to agree ;)
