This is an in-person class for high school writers! We'll be exploring the art of creative writing for 12 weeks. We'll focus on all the phases of the writing process to complete the following writing projects:
Memoir
Poetry
Children's Books
This will be a workshop style class, so student will need to come to class prepared to share their writing each week. In class, we will work on idea generation, writing organization, critical thinking, creative response, and writing stamina (among other things).
This is a FOR CREDIT class. Students will earn 1/2 HS ELA credit upon full completion of the class. Students will also need to complete writing assignments and activities outside of class in order to earn the full credit. We will communicate via Google Classroom when not in our weekly meetings.
Who: 9th-12th graders (8th graders may be applicable as well)
Where: Panera Bread at Bearden Plaza

When: Tuesdays 6:30-7:45 beginning August 31
Tuition/Fees: $200 for the entire 12 weeks (this may be split into two payments of $110 with the first payment due upon registration and the second payment due on or before October 12th.
Students are welcome to eat and/or sip while we work! We'll be writing each week and sharing our writings often, so come prepared!
