Dear Parents,
I know it may come as a surprise to many of you to not see my name on the schedule for classes this upcoming year. Please know that this was not my choice. Administration made a unilateral decision to reduce my class load from seven to three. There was no discussion or even a compromise attempted on behalf of administration. I did request a minimum of at least five classes after they informed me my class load would be reduced to four. In the end, however, I was only allowed to teach three.
Unfortunately, this is not the first time administration and I have not seen eye to eye, and I do feel that this decision was punitive. There has been no rationale provided for this reduction. My classes are typically full, which provides the co-op with rent money, and my evaluations are great each year. I also have only missed one day in four years (my doctorate graduation ceremony), so I am unclear on why this decision has been made.
I will be teaching next year. I have secured a location, and I will share more details as that becomes finalized. As of right now, I will also continue to teach one-on-one sessions and virtual classes. The best way to follow along for that information is through my Rowe Reads Facebook page and through my website (www.rowereads.com).
I have absolutely loved getting to know you and your amazing students. I have loved teaching your children year after year and seeing them grow. I have loved teaching siblings and getting to know entire families. It is my hope and prayer that we will cross paths again very soon.
As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!
Love,
Dr. R
